Bäckegårds List AB
About us – Founded in 1981 by Anders Sveningsson in Betarp, just outside Burseryd in Småland, Bäckegårds List AB began as a traditional moulding mill. Over the years, it has evolved into one of Sweden’s most versatile wood processing companies. Today, around half of our production is exported—primarily to the Norwegian market, where we are represented by Woodify, a company in which we also hold ownership. Since 2011, the business has been run by the founder’s children, Andreas Sveningsson and Frida Sveningsson, together with CEO Johan Nordlund.

New factory
We started to outgrow our premises in Betarp and were given the opportunity to acquire a similar factory just 2 km away. The purchase was signed in June, and we had a new space to grow into.
External Chairman
In 2020, we realized we needed support in creating structure at the management level. We recruited Fredrik Asplund, who brought valuable experience from the furniture industry — and it quickly became clear that he was a perfect fit for us.
New office
As the business grew, so did the administrative tasks. We purchased the neighboring property and transformed it into office space.
ISO Certification
From being just a paper product to something we now rely on every day, we are incredibly proud of our ISO work in quality, environment, and occupational health and safety.
FSC® and PEFC™
In a world where environmental demands are constantly increasing, we also took the step to become certified according to FSC and PEFC. We can now offer certified raw materials without breaking the chain of custody.
New Warehouse and Staff Facilities
Back in 2013, we didn’t expect to outgrow our premises again just ten years later. But to keep growing, we needed a new warehouse. Our staff room was far too small, and material flow in the production chain was inefficient. The solution? An expansion of nearly 3,000 m²!
New Planing Line with Scanner and Optimizing Crosscut Saw
After years of preparation, we’ve now begun the reconstruction in Betarp, aiming to be up and running by Q1 2026. The upgrade includes infeed, vacuum lifter, band saw, planer, scanner, optimizing crosscut saw, end profiling, length sorting, and packaging. This marks the beginning of Bäckegårds 3.0.
