External Thermowood cladding for Mjøstårnet in Brumunddal
The world’s tallest timber building stands in Brumunddal. Mjøstårnet is 85.4 metres tall with 18 floors, 17 metres wide and 37.5 metres long. The 15,000 m² building contains a restaurant, offices, common areas, a hotel, apartments and an adjoining swimming facility. On completion in March 2019, Mjøstårnet became the world’s tallest timber building. It sits beautifully right by Lake Mjøsa and is built as far as possible from locally sourced materials. Throughout construction the focus was on building sustainably and with the environment in mind. The design has been widely acclaimed, winning gold at the New York Design Awards in 2018.
