Factory-greyed natural Thermowood spruce cladding for Skarsnuten Hotel
Skarsnuten Hotel is an iconic landmark in Hemsedal, and with the extension of the hotel they have taken a major step forward in uniting modern design with scenic surroundings. The extension covers a full 4,100 square metres and includes 51 new rooms, 4 suites, a large conference section and a wellness area.
The hotel sits 1,000 metres above sea level with panoramic views over Hemsedal. Logistically this was demanding for those working on the project, but the result is an upgrade that gives guests an even better experience, in both comfort and facilities.
Factory-greyed natural Thermowood spruce cladding was supplied to Skarsnuten Hotel. This heat-treated cladding is known for its durability and resistance to wind and weather, while requiring minimal maintenance.
The grey patina gives the building a modern yet natural expression that harmonises well with the mountain landscape. With a focus on sustainable materials and good craftsmanship, this project is an example of how modern architecture can be adapted to natural settings without compromising on quality or aesthetics.
