Fire-retardant external cladding for Elgstua Hotel
Elgstua Hotel in Elverum has been given new external cladding. Material selection and surface treatment were based on fire requirements and long maintenance intervals, ensuring a durable and low-maintenance solution well suited to the demands of a busy hotel building.
The façade combines light and dark fields to give the building a balanced, lively expression, creating visual rhythm and depth while keeping the overall composition calm and coherent. This considered use of contrast highlights the building’s architectural details and gives it a distinctive presence in the townscape.
The result is a cohesive building in which old and new blend seamlessly, in both colour and texture. The renewed cladding respects the character of the existing structure while giving Elgstua Hotel a refreshed, contemporary appearance that will stand the test of time.
