Hegg School
The new School houses years 1–7 with three parallel classes, including a multi-purpose hall and a 260-seat amphitheatre. The total area is approx. 11,500 m². The building brings together a range of functions designed to support both everyday teaching and larger school-wide gatherings, creating a flexible learning environment for students across all age groups.
Brandpanel X-Veneer (fire-retardant plywood) was supplied to the School and used extensively throughout the building, contributing a warm and cohesive material expression while meeting strict fire-safety requirements. Brandpanel X-Veneer is M1 approved and carries EUTR and environmental declarations, allowing it to be used in BREEAM projects such as Hegg School in Lier. This combination of fire performance, documented sustainability, and natural timber character makes the product particularly well suited to educational buildings, where safety, environmental responsibility, and a welcoming atmosphere for children are equally important.
