We are proud to have supplied materials to iValla in Vallastaden through Woodify. The project has received attention for its well-considered architecture and its clear focus on wood as a primary building material. Here, the natural qualities and aesthetic value of wood are expressed both in the building’s structure and in its architectural design, creating a warm and vibrant living environment for residents.
The residential building has been designed with great care for both function and form. In 2017, iValla in Vallastaden received the Östergötland Architecture Award. The jury’s motivation stated:
“iValla, Vallastaden in Linköping (block Integralen 6), is awarded the Östergötland Architecture Prize 2017 for a consistently executed multi-storey building where wood as a material is expressed both in the structural system and in the architectural design, with a flexible and creative layout that can gradually adapt to the different stages of life.”
The award highlights the project’s clear architectural concept and how wood is used both as a structural element and as a central part of the building’s visual expression. The result is a modern residential building where sustainability, function, and design interact in an inspiring way.
