Experience

What to treat, and what not to treat

Our experience is that not all wood species are suitable for all fire retardant treatments. There are several important issues that govern a wise choice of product, i.e.

  • Indoor/outdoor application?
  • Documentation requirements. B-s1,d0, CE, SBI, CPR 305 etc.
  • What FR chemical to use?
  • Dimensions/profiles/assembly and effect on reaction to fire.
  • Raw material sourcing
  • Production planning
  • Logistics Assuring that the product specification is right from the very beginning is together with careful procurement the key to most quality related issues.
Fire retardant wood - Woodsafe PRO

Woodsafe PRO™

Woodsafe PRO™ is advantageously used as facade cladding in multi-story houses that are to be surface treated with traditional facade paint, ceiling ducts, wall and ceiling cladding indoors, constructions, acoustic applications (such as thin wooden boards, perforated plywood, offshore, vehicles e.g., trains and lorries, etc.). Woodsafe PRO™ is a flame retardant wood method for interior and exterior use. The actual performance of the flame retardant wood panel takes place in an industrial vacuum pressure impregnation process, and associated fixation of the fire retardant in the wood cell structure is achieved through the KDAT process. Manufacturing is done according to our ISO 9001: 2015 manual and continuous production control agreement by RISE (formerly SP). Wood treated with Woodsafe PRO™ has a flame retardant coating (K210/ B-s1,d0, K110/ B-s1,d0, ), surface layer (B-s1,d0), facade cladding (SP-Fire105) nd durable fire properties in exterior environment with surface treatment as traditionally painted facades according to EN16755 DRF EXT

Woodsafe PRO™ treated wood has the following features:

  • flame retardant for claddings according to K210/ B-s1,d0, K110/ B-s1,d0
  • surface layer's reaction to fire according to B-s1, d0
  • durable fire properties in exterior environments with surface treatment as traditionally painted facades according to EN16755 DRF EXT.
